Knowledge can be acquired and applied. Acquiring knowledge on various aspects of God will be interesting and never ending, as it's unimaginably vast. With our limited knowledge, though it is very difficult to understand HIM, there are a few points that can be shared.
We will start with a simple approach and try to explore some aspects of some of HIS qualities.
When we purchase an article with lot more technical stuff in it, based on the worthiness and complexity, the article comes with a literature. The literature would be a guideline to assemble various parts of it, and to understand how the article works. If the product has too many features and functionality, sometimes, a representative would be sent to give a brief demo on how the product works. When this is true for simple man made articles, would not we need some one else [devotees of the Lord like Alwars and Nayanmars ] or some evidence to show us a few qualities of the creator, who created these massive planets, powerful stars, the Sun, the Moon, and so on ?. In addition to that, so many questions would raise in our minds, such as
- How do these planets revolve around the sun?
- Who supplies the fuel for them constantly, and where does the fuel come from?
- Do they run without fuel?
- What about wear and tear of these revolving masses ?
- What is the purpose of these actions?
- Is it all natural or some supreme power made it happen and we named it as nature?
It leaves us with lot more contemplation of the creator. Our life time is limited to only praise these creations without thinking of how great the creator would be.
Any belief on religion says that God revealed himself in the form of Vedas, which in our mundane language, the literature about HIM.
What are Vedas?
God revealed Vedas to us and HE reveals himself through Vedas
A simple analogy would explain what Vedas mean by.
Analogy: When we stand in front of the mirror, obviously, we see the exact replica of our image. The image does everything of what we do. In a similar pattern, to Lord Narayana, Garuda is HIS reflection and hence Garuda would be facing HIM in all temples. Since, Garuda or Naimidevan is the mirror image of the Lord, He represents vedas which say all about the Lord.
