Massive Structure

When Garuda first appeared, he had a massive human structure covered with lustrous golden color, and with white face and wings, resembling a bird. His huge structure was capable enough to cover the entire sun. With benevolence and with the request of saints and devas, he reduced his form. Garuda is 'Patchi Raja', meaning, king of birds.

Forms
 
As mentioned earlier, the Pakshi Raja resembles the lord, Sriman Narayana in various aspects. Like the lord, who had taken four different forms like Vasudeva, Pradyumna, Anirudha, and Sankarshana, Garuda's body has four different colous. He face is black in color, arms assumes red color, his thighs are white like bright sun and his feet, golden yellow, which is sanskrit [an ancient language]called as HiraNya VarNa.

The auspicious patchi raja has been blessed to be with the Lord all time. The lord has 'patchi raja' on his flag, the lord will always be accompanied by Garuda while rescuing his devotees. Thus, Garuda is fortunate enough to be the Lord at all times.


Veda Purusha, the Lord and the Veda Swaroopi, Garuda are always inseparable. Garuda derives the happiness of being with the Lord, which in sanksrit [an ancient language] known as Sameebyam [in tamil Sameebam]. He lives as Nithyasoori in the abode of the  lord, which is saLokyam [being in the abode or Loka], and possess sarUpyam, the sudha Satvam form.
